How to dress your living room for this upcoming winter season

This winter season

Who doesn’t want to dress up their living room so that you will feel as cozy as possible this coming winter. Whenever winter comes around, it's bye bye to going out and saying hello to staying in and this is where we have to start thinking about what we could do to make us feel right at home. Winter doesn’t only symbol the cold weather that is coming but it also symbolizes the holidays that are coming up! Let’s see how we can sprouse things up in our living room.

First off, play with patterns, colors and textures. Before you go and choose your living room essentials like a couch, a coffee table or even some decorations to put above your fireplace, try and figure out which season is the longest of all the seasons. If winter is the main season then you should be thinking about warm colors. Brown, beige and gray are the perfect colors to have in your living room for the winter. Knowing how to mix patterns, color and textural elements in a room is just one of the many skills you need to master, especially if you want to craft a cozy living room. Getting the balance of pattern and color just right is key to a winter living room's success. When you combine different patterns, the secret is to use different scales. Each pattern then has the ability to breathe and not fight against its surroundings. Layering textures helps to add depth too. When you layer materials, colors and shapes, that gives your interiors an overall texture which can define the look and feel of a space
Secondly, you should be rearranging your furniture to position it around the fireplace. The fireplace should be your focal point during the winter time. It is natural that when you gather with family and friends then that should be the best place to gather around during the winter time. Once you rearrange your furniture around the fireplace, then you should be adding some throw blankets as well, in order to add a more warmer feel (if you don’t feel that it is warm enough). Gathering around the fireplace makes the vibes in the room more calm and soothing. Even when you don’t gather with family and friends and only sit by the fireplace to read a book. It’s the feeling of warmth and having a nice place to feel warm during this winter season.
Lastly, what we think about during the winter time is living room lighting. With their delicate interplay between function and form, a winter living room will greatly benefit from a well-executed decorative living room light. Because light changes throughout the day, then you should think about where to position lights to create the most impact. These are the different light sources you should think about: a floor light with a swivel arm is ideal as an evening reading lamp behind a living room sofa or chair. Remember that shade colors can affect the mood of a room, so if you want to add ambience, choose darker tones which will feel moodier and cozier.

As you can see, during winter time, we have many different options to make your living room super cozy and feel right at home.
